Well believe it or not, I joined a boot camp about 6 weeks ago! My old 50 year old body has never done this kind of working out...ever in my whole life! It all started with a phone call from my dear friend Joy. She proceeded to tell me about this boot camp that a young man had just started. She thought it would good for us to go, so we could get in shape! Well....the first week, I literally thought I was dying! But...I kept going everyday, hoping the soreness would leave by continuing to work out. It did eventually get easier and the soreness subsided (some):) That was until yesterday...our trainer made us do sprints. I felt like a very old lady when I got up this morning. I went straight to the kitchen for ibuprofen. I even thought about not going today...but I did. All soreness aside, I am seeing some results and I like it. I feel better. I have not had hot flashes in about a month and I was having them pretty frequently! I am sleeping at night...which is such a blessing. The past year has been really rough as far as sleep goes. I will never take a good night's sleep for granted ever again. I am seeing some results in a few pounds of weight loss and inches. But I really think the best part is just knowing I am doing something that I never even thought I would or could do. It feels good to make a commitment and stick to it..to not give up when it gets too hard. So now it is 6 weeks later and I am still going. Yea ME!
Abundantly blessed and sore....Lisa

A FULL Week around here!
Where do I start? Okay..this past week has been wonderfully busy! It all started last Saturday with MKDS (Ms. Karen's Dance Studio) annual academy awards banquet! This year was a luau theme and was held at the North Hills Country Club in Sherwood. Savannah and I worked most of Friday with some other moms and Ms Karen decorating for the fun event! The girls look forward to this every year. Tropical Smoothie catered it and I honestly thought the food was wonderful and the smoothies delicious! Ms Karen always honors the senior girls that are graduating from high school plus she gives out awards to all the other dancers as well. So fun seeing all the girls dressed so festive! Savannah loves dance so much, almost as much as she loves Ms. Karen!:)
Sunday we went to church and then later that afternoon headed over to the Big Dam Bridge for the Buddy Walk, which was a fundraiser to help raise money and awareness for Down Syndrome children. This was such a wonderful event to get to be a part of. Savannah and several of the other cheerleaders, cheered the children and families on as they walked across the bridge and back, which is a mile! Later, they came back to the pavilion for hotdogs and games! There was such a sweet spirit amongst the crowd that afternoon. I loved getting to meet new people and love on some of those precious children.
Monday, my mom came down to spend a couple of days with us. When my mom comes down my kids love for her to cook her famous biscuits and gravy! Even my married kiddos were here each morning before work to eat breakfast..:)! We had lots planned for those two days...shopping, sewing, eating out and going to the police station for finger printing. (My mom at 78 years old took a concealed handgun class and her finger prints are worn off her fingers, so she hasn't been able to get her license...kind of a long story, but that is the short version.) I wanted to take my mom to Charlotte's in Keo, Arkansas. It is a wonderful little restaurant that is known for its wonderful pies and cakes. So we (my mom, Savannah, Natalie and me) headed out Tuesday for lunch and it was soooooo delicious not to mention spending time together was a plus also. Definitely want to go back sometime soon! Plus there is a cute little shop next door that has darling clothes and accessories! Laura, my nephew's wife also spent the week with us. She was here for insurance school, so we got to see her each night. I enjoyed getting to visit with her. Not often do I get to spend time in conversation with her.
Thursday we had a baby shower for Hannah George! I decided to use the theme "A girl can never have too many shoes!" I used baby shoes as the centerpiece. It was so cute. And the cake was to die for not only in cuteness but it tasted yummy! Joan Barnes is the "cake boss"! Love her and her work. So many friends and family came to celebrate Ms Trulie! Can't wait to see her in September!
Today was some house cleaning and Target shopping! I got a little behind this week...oh well....it was worth it!
Tonight..I have teenagers on my back porch! There is about 6 or 7 lounging around after some swimming! Thought I was going to bed early...but no...that was just a fleeting thought!:)
Tomorrow...more catching up around here and Mason and Kati Beth's wedding tomorrow night!
I am grateful....
