Dancing, Dancing, Dancing Machine......

Well that is what my baby girl is...a dancing machine! This past weekend we packed up the suburban and picked up our friends Donna, Mckenzie, Alex and Olivia and headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a weekend of dancing! MKDS went to Primetime Dance Competition. I am so proud of Savannah and her sweet dancing friends...they light up the stage when they step upon it. One thing I love about dance is how much Savannah loves it! Makes me so proud to see her work so hard and enjoy it so much! After hours of competing with some tough competition and making it to the finals...MKDS came home with the President's Cup....the highest award you can receive. So proud of all the girls and their hard work! It was such a fun weekend...I am exhausted today....but so very proud!

Spending Tuesdays with Beth

I love Beth Moore Bible Studies!! Each time I say "this one is my favorite". The study that I am doing now on the book of James...well "it is my favorite"! (at least it is right now..until her next one comes out!:) I am so thankful for my dear friends who are doing this study with me. I learn so much from each one of them. When Tuesdays roll around I get excited to see what Beth is going to be teaching me and to see my dear friends who challenge me and pray for me! Thankful for Tuesdays and for a God who continues to show me grace!

Shower #2....Hannah's About To Pop

Shower #2 was a baby shower for my dear friend Tracy Cooper's daughter-in-law, Hannah Cooper. She will be welcoming a little boy sometime around the 1st of April. His name will be River! We are so excited for little River to get here! Can't wait to kiss his sweet cheeks. Our theme for the shower was "Hannah is about to pop!" I set up a popcorn bar with cake pops, poppy seed cake and ring pops. We had "soda pop" for our drinks, as well as several other goodies!

Hannah received so many wonderful gifts for baby River. There are so many fun things for babies now! We oohed and awed over everything!

It was such a fun time visiting with old and new friends. I love the sweet fellowship I witnessed between friends. You could just hear sweet words flowing all around the room. I love watching people catching up on each others lives. After it was over and I was putting away everything, I was thinking about what a precious gift friendship is. What is it about being with friends that just makes you feel better? It can relieve a case of blahs real fast!

Well, I got some pictures uploaded...but not in the best order! I will work on learning how to get these better formatted.

Hope your week is filled with blessings....Lisa

Megan's Bridal Shower

This past weekend was a weekend of showers! Not the rainy kind...but the fun kind! I hostessed three showers this weekend. I don't normally have that many at one time, but that is the way it worked out this weekend! The first one was Saturday at my home! We "showered" Megan Brown with a wedding shower. Megan is getting married to Brad Delco March 10, 2012!! She has been a dear friend to my daughter Natalie for many years, so it has been such a joy to get to participate in the upcoming event! My theme for this shower was 'lovebirds"! With the shower being just a couple of days before Valentine's day, I decided this would be very appropriate! So many friends came to bring gifts and well wishes for the soon to be bride! We probably had between 50 and 60 people attend! She received so many wonderful gifts. Joy Marie, Carolyn Whiteside and Natalie Tschepikow were hostesses also. They were a tremendous help! What would we do without friends??? Also, a shout out to my dear friend Pam Fox...she was such a help to me this weekend! Thanks to each and every one of you! I am sharing a few photos from the shower...hope you enjoy them!

BTW ...the beautiful cake was made by Joan Barnes...she is the cake boss!!

Weekend Wrap Up

Whew....that is what I feel like tonight! My weekend has been nonstop!! It started with a busy Friday night shopping for a bridal gift that took way too long to purchase. An hour and a half and 3 sales associates later, they finally figured out how to ring up my purchase. I said never mind to the gift wrapping after waiting an additional 15 minutes! I decided I could do that at home:).

Saturday was a packed one. My mom came down and spent the day and night with me. We always try to cram in so many things in such a short amount of time! After picking up Natalie we headed to Robinson Auditorium to watch Savannah in her dance competition. Her competitive dance group was competing in Showbiz. They are awesome dancers. She only had one dance on Saturday, so after leaving the competition we went to Natalie's house to sew drapes for her living and dining room! We made a few trips out to grab some things we needed to finish the installation, but other than that we were working girls. The drapes turned out awesome...again I promise to post some pics later.

Saturday night Paul and I went with our friends Randy and Donna Dennis to a Mexican Fiesta for Joanna Lynch and Jeremy White. They are getting married in April. The food was wonderful and I got to see several friends that I had not seen in a while! We ended the night back at Natalie's installing the drapes.

Sunday we headed back to Robinson bright and early to watch Savannah perform her solo. She had several more dances that were scattered throughout the day so we were there basically all day. I love watching her dance. She is so fun and entertaining on stage. There is just something about watching my children perform that makes me smile! Mom had to leave early....but it was absolutely wonderful having her here for the weekend, even though it was not long enough. Time does fly when you are having fun...and we were having fun!:) I want to give a shout out to Joy Brown...thanks for coming to watch Savannah dance. Loved having you and sweet Miller there.

Ended the weekend by having dinner with my Natalie and Paul at a wonderful Mexican restaurant. Enjoyed sitting and chatting with Natalie after dinner. I love my kids so much...they are the best. I might be partial....but really they are great.

Hope your weekend was wonderful....and you remembered to "show some love" to someone!

Blessings and LOVE....Lisa

The LOVE Month

Welcome February!
The month of LOVE...gotta "love" that! I mean a holiday that combines, chocolate, hearts, flowers, and sweet words expressing your true feelings, what could be better! How often do we get an excuse to tell the ones we love how we really feel about them or give them chocolate as a gift! So for the next few days lets focus on loving the people around us through our words, actions or maybe some chocolate! (I personally am open to some "chocolate love" if you would like to show me some!)

LOVE, LOVE....Lisa
